LIFE IN JESUS CHRIST, BE HIS WITNESSES
In my dreams, I often fight with Satan. Although I am scared when I see him, I do not flinch.
I would cry out and declare,
"Jesus Christ protects me,
Devil Satan, Get behind me."
At which point Satan would usually give me a hard look and then go away.
Sometimes I don't realize it is an attack from Satan, but I feel scared and want to run away. The attack will come directly to me and I can't avoid it even if I want to.
This made me realize that man alone cannot compete with Satan.
But when I called on the Lord and fought back, I felt a powerful force pouring into me, and Satan retreated.
I clearly remember that during a counterattack, I called on the name of the Lord and launched a counterattack at the same time.
Satan passed in front of me from a distance in the air, and grabbed my hand that was attacking him hatefully, and said to me,
"If you want to defeat me, you have to practice hard."
"Hum hum, you want my tail to go up in the sky, don't you?" I answered without hesitation.
Thank God for the Holy Spirit who teaches us what to say.
After hearing this, he retreated silently.
This is a close fight.
So how should we practice in peacetime?
When I read the verses in 1 Timothy,
"For bodily exercise has some value, but godliness has value in all things, having the promise of the life which is now and of that which is to come." (1 Timothy 4:8)
What is godliness?
What does he have to do with Jesus?
"Without controversy, the mystery of godliness is great:
God was revealed in the flesh,
justified in the spirit,
seen by angels,
preached among the nations,
believed on in the world,
and received up in glory." (1 Timothy 3:16)
What I understand from the above scripture is that practicing godliness is in Jesus Christ.
So how can we be in Jesus Christ?
“Jesus also said to the crowd, ‘If anyone wants to come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.’” (Luke 9:23)
Thank you Lord for your teaching!
Ask the Lord to help us deny ourselves, take up our cross daily and follow Jesus, train godliness, set the mind of the Holy Spirit. Amen!
